APRIL FOOL’S DAY
We woke up to a BUNCH of snow of April 1st! Adelynn still hadn't gotten the chance to make a snowman, or use her new snowpants. So, we took advantage of the snow in April! We tried to get Dad to come outside and play in the snow, but he needed sleep because he had worked all night. So, instead he got snowballs thrown at the bedroom window. I thought it was funny until he started yelling at me. :)

All day Addie kept picking up snow and telling me to eat it. But, she would never try it herself. I kept telling her it tasted like yummy ice, but she wouldn't even try it (No dinosaur pee for her)!



About four hours later we walked outside and he had tipped over! It was still snowing, but I guess we didn't build him very sturdy.

Adelynn came down with croup badly one night. She woke up at 3 in the morning coughing and Corey insisted that we make her a tent with the humidifier. What a good Daddy!



Memories! For as long as I can remember my Grandparents have owned a tandem bike. All of us grandkids have fond memories on this bike. This is a picture of my cousins Heather and Kim riding (hoping the chain doesn't pop off at any minute)!

Addie has always been a SUPER active child. She is fearless, and would climb or jump onto anything. She has been lucky to make it this long without any major mishaps. But, on Tues night she ran right into our kitchen table and got a huge bruise under her eye. Not even 24 hours later she tripped on my foot, and went flying head first into the coffee table! I instantly knew it was bad and said some choice words. Corey didn't realize the severity of Addie's injury and decided to YELL at me for swearing in front of Addie. Needless to say I wasn't very calm, but when he put me in my place I was able to think a little more clearly. :) He was so calm and just started getting gauze and ice and looked at it. (This is why he is a nurse, and I could never be one)! He was all excited because he decided that she would only need the special glue to hold the scar together, and he just happened to have some in his hiking gear. He wanted to be able to just take care of it at home, and save us money. He assured me that he had done it several times in the ER. But, I had my doubts! So...we went to the doctor and let him sanitize it, and glue it back together. Corey was so cute though, cause he threw on some gloves and helped clean it and glue it. The nurse and doctor were both kind of shocked, but they were grateful for the help. The doctor actually paid Corey a compliment and told him he was smart. Ego boosts are always nice! Adelynn did very well and barely cried. She has always been a very strong girl.


Right before we went to the doctor, she kept saying she didn't want to go to the doctor, until I told her she would get a treat!


All sewn up! She didn't want her picture taken and was pushing me away, so she has attitude.

Our Honorable "Aunt" Tammy came over tonight and made everything all better!

Family Time!

We started out the month with nice weather and we have been able to spend a lot more time outside playing and having fun together! Corey turned 27 on the 5th of March and two days later we got a new nephew. We went to Idaho for a funeral, and to see family and we had a great time seeing friends and family! Then, Corey's family came to visit us. So, it seems like within the past two weeks we have been blessed to see LOTS of our family. I thought I would share a few pictures with you.

Casey and Samantha, they are getting married on June 11th, he proposed tonight. We are very excited, because we love Samantha. Addie calls her Aunt Antha!

We went to Idaho, and Lawna had her baby the day we showed up. I’ve been a little baby hungry, so that cured me for like a day.

Addie got a late Christmas present from her Great Grandma Woollard and she has been playing “tea party” non-stop now.

She loves reading (looking at books), I found her the other day reading all by herself. The teacher in me LOVED that!

I thought that I would share some pictures with you all! Adelynn is getting so big. She has always been so smart, she has the most amazing memory! She remembers things that we did and places we went better than me. She is really good at remembering names though. Especially our neighbors and church friends. If she meets you once, and hears your name, a week later she will still know your name. It's amazing! We make a joke, that I just ask her when I forget someones name. :) Some of her favorite things to eat are: chocolate, popcorn, pork skins (with her Daddy), pickles, and peas. The other day she yelled (that's her normal tone), "I NEED pickles, really bad...for my diet". She makes me laugh everyday, and it's a good thing because then I don't miss my students as much. The other night she found a bouquet of flowers, and tried walking out the door with them. I asked her where she thought she was going, and she said, "I'm going to get married!" Seriously, that's what she said. I couldn't stop laughing, and I think she's about 20 years too early!

Thoughts:

I haven't used my blog as a means for writing for a long period of time. Writing (for me) usually means putting things onto paper that rarely make sense to me, let alone to all of you who stumble upon my blog. For this reason I have chosen to use my blog as a collection of photos for my friends and family to view. However, I have a confession to make. I have been reading an overdue (two days, overdue) book for the past four hours. First of all, I really should have returned this book to the library on Friday when it was due, because there are approximately 60+ people waiting to read this book. So, I did a bad thing when I decided to keep it and finish it. But, I also neglected my wife/mother responsibilities to finish reading it as well. As we speak, Corey is taking a nap (by himself), and Adelynn has FINALLY fallen (literally) asleep on the floor in her room with a nasty smelling diaper on. Despite these details, I wanted to tell you a little about one of my new, favorite authors.
About two years ago Corey and I found a copy of the book, "Eat, Pray, Love", by Elizabeth Gilbert on CD at the library. Every time we got in the car we would listen to this ladies intimate description of her travels around the world. (There is a movie coming out based upon this book, with Julia Roberts as the main character). Let me proceed with saying that I LOVE reading memoirs, real life stories are my kind of thing. So much that I took a class in college about how to write my own memoir, and started a fifteen page story of my life. In fact, those fifteen pages ended up being mostly about my struggle into adulthood. Which to someone who doesn’t know me would be a rather boring read. Which is what makes writing a memoir such a hard task to undertake. So, what I am trying to say is that I admire this wonderful writer, Elizabeth Gilbert. She came out with her second book in January of this year, and it is titled, "Committed: A Skeptic Makes Peace with Marriage". Since I was already invested in this woman's life, having read her first book, I decided to see what she had to say on the most touchy subject of marriage. She discusses the history of marriage, the reasons marriages succeed/fail, feminists, and her own liberal views of marriage roles. While discovering all of these topics she throws her own story of being "sentenced to wed" by the U.S. government into the mix. Parts of this book are historical and boring, but overall I enjoyed her views on marriage. I just realized this sounds like a formal book review/report you might hand to a teacher. So...I will end this crazy post with a quote from this thought-provoking book. "There is no greater risk than matrimony. But there is nothing happier than a happy marriage." -Benjamin Disraeli

P.S. Do I think you should go out and buy this book and read it. No,because you probably wouldn't appreciate it as much as I did. I just wanted to share my energy for writing and reading today.

We went to Sears today and got family pictures taken. I was really pleased with the pictures of Adelynn. But, I'm much more picky about the way I look in the pictures, but that's a normal woman thing. We (I should say I), broke down and bought the CD so that we could have the pictures forever.
