Pictures of Addie

We got a ton of pictures of Adelynn. Let me know if you want one. She is exactly six months in these pictures! Some of them got scanned with fingerprints on them, but you get the idea.

Emergency Room

Today was Corey's first day working in the ER. He was working in the Med/Surg unit at the Uintah Basin Medical Center, but decided that he wanted a challenge. So, he has transfered to the ER. Well, he works twelve hour shifts, and that is a long time for me to go without talking to him, or seeing him. So, he finally called tonight, and said, "Hi, I've been busy, oh, and I've got to go". So, this might be an adjustment for me too. Addie and I use to go visit him at work, and take him lunch, but now we probably wont be allowed to do that. But, if you ask me, nurses need a break to eat and rest every once in awhile. But, then again somebody has to save lives. I am excited for Corey to get some experience that will be beneficial to his long term goal. By the way, he is still unsure about what that is. Currently he is throwing around the idea of being a doctor, can you imagine a male nurse turned doctor (that's a lot of schooling)?!?

Oh, speaking of "male nurses", Corey always tells people we are like the Faukers, you know the movie, "Meet the Faukers". Well, he tells people I'm a teacher, and he's a nurse. So, I got a book from the library the other day to teach Addie sign language. When I was trying to teach her how to say more food, or more milk, he told me I was full of crap, and that we were really turning into the Faukers (you have to know the movies). Well, he told me that if I could get Addie to sign something to him someday then he would give me $20.00. So, now I'm stepping it up, and I'm going to win this bet.

Pictures

Addie is chewing on a straw

Adorable Addie!

Handful of grass.
Just one left hanging out of her mouth, she's always up to something.

Before the weather decided to get crappy, Adelynn and I were playing outside with her new summer hat on. She LOVES grass, she loves the feel of it, but mostly she enjoys eating it! I was reading my book, and I looked up and she had a handful in her mouth, so I stopped and took a picture. I figure grass isn't the worst thing she can eat. She is getting fun, sitting up, playing with the neighbor kids, and grabbing at EVERYTHING. We love her!

Devri Ann

The newest member of the Grant family!

This shows her entire, little body.

This post is mostly for the benefit of the Koyle family. Heather Koyle-Grant (my cousin) had her third child last night (on the 18th) at around eight o'clock. They had their first girl, and they will be naming her Devri Ann Grant. She weighted 5 lbs, and 14 oz, and I'm unsure about the length. She's a cutie, and very small. I got a few pictures for those of you who live farther away.

Babysitting

Corey is helping Addie eat her toes!

I watch a little boy (Conner) on Wednesdays. Adelynn is loving it now, because she can play with him and then she isn't bored. So, I thought I would add this video of them playing together. He got mad at her because she was eating his book. I thought it was funny, and got the video camera out just in time! Adelynn isn't smiling at all in the video, she's just busy playing. But, I love how she reacts when he takes the book, she's so resilient.

Corey DeMar Anderson

So...I am totally bugged that this blog wont let me post this in the format I want, but oh well. Here is the Husband Tag.

What is his name? Corey DeMar Anderson

How long have you been married? 3 years on June 10th

How long did you date? 9 months, and engaged 8

How old is he? Younger than me, but 25

Who eats more? Definatley Corey!

Who said I love you first? Corey, we hadn't even kissed yet, and he was tickling my back and wrote it on my back. I started crying, because he was the first guy who had ever said it to me.

Who is smarter? Well, I'm the one with the BS degree, but he is MUCH smarter. He doesn't EVER let me forget it either.

Who's temper is worse? I'm going to be honest, it is his.

Who does the laundry? Um...Me, I've done his laundry since we were engaged.

Who does the dishes? He use to, all the time. In fact, when I taught school the students use to call him "Dishwasher Boy", because he always said he needed to go home and do the dishes before I got home. But, now I can't remember the last time he did them.

Who cooks dinner? I cook, and he tells me what I am doing wrong.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Which is the right side?

Who pays the bills? He makes the money and I disperse it.

Who drives when you are together? Corey, because he HATES being in the car when I drive.

Who is more stubborn? I think it is equal, he taught me how to be stubborn though.

Who's parents do you see most? Corey's, we live a half hour away.

Who proposed? Corey, on my birthday! He took me to the first place that we ever met, and had me open my b-day gifts. The gift he gave me was some scriptures, and I thought it was a joke, cause I didn't want scriptures, but they were the expensive leather kind. On the front they read, "Corey and Robin Anderson", and my heart sank. It was engaved in the scriptures! (This was an important aspect of our relationship because he wasn't active in the church when I met him, and he knew it was important to me). When I looked up, he had the ring out and said all the cute things about wanting to spend the rest of his life with me. I cried for like an hour, and of course I said yes!

Who has more friends? It's even, Corey is more friendly, so he might.

Who has more siblings? Me, I've got two bros, and five sisters.

Who wears the pants in the family? Me, no question about it.

Who is taller? Corey is 6'1 and I'm 5'4

Who sings better? Corey said I do, but he is usually telling me I'm too loud.

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? We can't agree on this one.

Any special message for your hubby? Thanks for telling me how to cook the salmon tonight, the rice vinegar didn't taste too bad on it, even if it was a mistake! I think that you were made special just for me, because nobody else would put up with my bossy self. I love you!

I also tag whoever hasn't done it already!

Not a Baby Anymore

Since I have been so sick with this food poisoning/flu, I haven't been able to eat much of anything. All I ate yesterday was bread. As a result, my milk supply (not the cow kind) has been running low. Adelynn isn't too happy about this, and so last night she was screaming for some food, and I had nothing. I made a bottle really quick, and she drank it down. I was shocked that she took it, and that she was willing to take it from me. It actually made me sad, like she was betraying me. But, I was glad she was getting some food. It was the first time she had drank formula, and the first time I had ever fed her a bottle. When I sat her up to burp her, she just grabbed at the bottle and wanted to feed herself. She thought it was pretty cool! I just thought, "Wow, she's getting so big, sitting up on her own now, and grabbing and drinking a bottle". She isn't a little baby anymore. I'm sure I will have these same feelings at other times in her life, like when she gets on the school bus for the first time, or leaves for college, but this is the first time I have felt like this. Maybe the most rewarding part of being a mother is watching your children grow, and conquer milestones. Since, it is Mother's Day, I thought I would write a tribute to my own mother. I have a quote in my kitchen that reads, "My Mother did not tell me how to live...She SHOWED Me!" My Mom managed to poop eight kids out, feed us, nurture us, clothe us, and teach us. I have one little baby, and she is enough work, I can't imagine multiplying that by seven. Well, basically I just want to say thanks to my Mom today, and let her know that even if she couldn't give us the newest toy, or clothes, her love and example meant so much more. Thanks Mom! I heard a quote today that said, "If God made something better than a mother, he must have kept it to himself". Thought that was cute, and probably true. Happy Mother's Day to all of you women out there!
