My blog is where I keep many of the memories I have created with my family and my children. I currently live over 2,500 miles from all 7 of my siblings, so this is a way for us to keep in touch through pictures and stories.

September 11th
So...Angela told me that she was sick of looking at my first day of school picture. So, I thought that I would tell you my blogging moment that I had at school today. I wanted to explain the importance of Patriot Day to my students. So, I read them the book, "The Man who stood Between the Towers", and asked them if they knew the importance of this day. One of the kids raised his hand and said something about a plane crashing into some buildings. I was expaining to them how America had a terrorist attack that day, and what happened. Then, I said, "It happened about seven years ago, do any of you remember it?" One kid spoke up and said "I was born SEVEN years ago!" I just looked at him in shock, and thought, "Wow, I AM old". It seems like yesterday...then, another kid said, "Were you alive BACK THEN?" My students teach me so much about life.

You are funny! If I was mean I would say, "you are turning into Mom and Dad". Because they always expect us to remember stuff from the year we were born, or shortly thereafter. "You don't remember that?!?"
ReplyDeleteRobin, you make me laugh!
ReplyDeleteTo make it worse, the kids that will graduate this year from highschool never lived in the 80's.
ReplyDeleteIt just makes you realize that the children of today live in a different world than the one that we grew up in.
