Lately I haven't been able to take a shower without Addie screaming her guts out. She doesn't have a problem with me leaving, or doing anything else, just when I shower (she must know it's my time to take a break). So, yesterday I put her in her walker with some finger foods, and hid her in the kitchen while I enjoyed my shower. She had no problems, and we were all happy! So, I thought I found the perfect solution! This morning when I went to shower, I did the same thing, gave her food, stuck her in her walker, and hid her in the kitchen. Then, I thought, "Well, I'm a bad parent, because what if she chokes, and I shouldn't leave her unattended in the walker". So, I wheeled the walker closer to the shower, so that I could peek on her while I showered. Guess what? As soon as the shower started, Addie started crying. I was in there for a total of thirty seconds and I heard a higher pitched cry. I peeked out of the shower curtain to look at her, and she was head first on the floor, with her feet still stuck in the walker seat. I said a few choice words, and sat her on the floor to eat and play. Thankfully she was fine because she fell on carpet and not the kitchen floor. I just can't believe that she isn't even 8 months, and she is climbing out of the walker that is suppose to help her walk! My Grandma and Grandpa Stoker will love to know that I have finally found the solution for a quick shower, a child!
My blog is where I keep many of the memories I have created with my family and my children. I currently live over 2,500 miles from all 7 of my siblings, so this is a way for us to keep in touch through pictures and stories.

I'm surprised that she hasn't given herself a concussion yet, the way that she always wiggled out of her bouncer.
ReplyDeleteCheck out Ange's "test" on the Stoker blog.
Yes how about that It will be awhile tell U have a long shower. U will have to come to G & G Stokers more often so we can watch Addie. Love Ya
ReplyDeleteOh poor little addie! And poor little Robin (not getting her long showers)! I totally feel for you on the shower, the shower is the one place I feel like I have "me" time. I just keep turning the water up hotter and hotter and just stand there, not wanting to get out and hear a baby crying or a "mommy, mommy!". It is my five (sometimes ten) minute escape. :)
ReplyDeleteI forgot to tell U how cute addie pictures were. She has the cutest smile Love Ya
ReplyDeleteWhat a little cutie you have!! And you can forget about the shower, you will never be able to get a nice long shower with out crying or kids yelling mommie!!! Just be glad for the seconds that you get to enjoy it!! That is what I have had to do!!
ReplyDeleteHow cute....so you deprive her of food as well...she has to eat her toes! :P
