I just had to say how much fun I had teaching my students about our new president today. We watched a little of the Inaugaration and I taught them a little about President Obama. One of my students said, "Why did the people have to vote, why couldn't we just base it on who the better guy was?" (Here in Utah, most people thing that McCain was the better guy) I couldn't stop laughing and had to explain that there are actually a lot of people who thought Obama would make a better President. It's funny what kids say, one of them said, "I didn't know the President had a wife", and another said, "You mean he's ONLY the President of America, not the whole world?" I forget how much second graders still have to learn about the world around them. Anyway, happy Inauguration Day! My blog is where I keep many of the memories I have created with my family and my children. I currently live over 2,500 miles from all 7 of my siblings, so this is a way for us to keep in touch through pictures and stories.
