It's so interesting that when I found out I was having a girl, I was elated, because I wouldn't have the foggiest idea what to do with a boy. However, with most Mother/Daughter relationships there tends to be a time period where it turns into a love/hate situation. I know that Adelynn loves me, and I love her to pieces. I tell her all the time that she is my best friend, next to Dad, of course. Especially on the weekends when it is just Addie and I, while Dad is at work and sleeping. I'm bored out of my mind in this small town, but without her, I think I would lose my mind.
Anyway, the other night she got mad at me because I took a piece of garbage away from her. Once I realized she was playing with it, I set it back on the coffee table for her to play with. However, she had no idea that I had put it there. She walked into the kitchen and BIT my upper thigh as hard as she could. It hurt, bad! Instantly, I grabbed her and spanked her. I went to go put her in time out, and she started crying. So, we had a crying moment and talked it all through. This whole time Corey is laughing because she has never bit him. After things calmed down a little, I began feeling the pain. I had to take a look at it. Come to find out, she had bit through my sweat pants, my garments, and it was bleeding. Full on bleeding! Corey started making jokes about how my garments should of protected me.
I was so shocked, I had to take a picture and make a blogging moment out of it. But, I think that the thing I learned the most was that kids have their own ways of communicating when they can't talk. So watch out!
oh, yes they do! I hope your okay...aren't you glad your not nursing? Animals have a way of getting what they want as well..as Kaptain wasn't patient and dumped his dish of food and water out so I would pay attention to him and give him some dinner....I was going to until then--I scolded him, he knew what he did and started eating it off the floor....good. what a child!
ReplyDeleteWow she really bit through all your clothes. That is one good bite! I remember when Connor bit my leg and my instant reaction is to push and pat his little behind. It really hurts. I feel for ya!
ReplyDeleteOuch! This is why we have to have kids when we are young, because they beat the crap out of us and make us old.
ReplyDeleteyou spanked your child..oh your poor little girl! JK :) I swear Ryder is just like that he get so upset all the time!! But she is still so cute!!
ReplyDeleteOUCH! I hope the biting phase is a short one. Lydia actually bit herself on the hand when she got frustrated a couple days ago. She left deep red marks! I wonder if she taught herself a lesson???
